  • 1 cup warm whole milk
  • 3 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 3 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup salted butter
  • 23 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine warm milk and yeast in a large bowl.
  2. Add sugar, flour, egg, salt, and softened butter; mix until shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for about 15 minutes until smooth.
  4. Let it rise in an oiled bowl until doubled (about 90 minutes).
  5. Punch down the dough, shape into 12 rolls, and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Brush with an egg wash made of egg yolk and milk.
  7. Allow to rise again for 30-45 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) during the last rise.
  9. Bake for 20-22 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Brush with melted garlic butter after baking.
