  • 8 sheets of phyllo dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup semolina flour
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup honey, warmed
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds, toasted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Layer one sheet of phyllo in the greased dish and brush with melted butter. Repeat this process with six more sheets.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the semolina flour, eggs, sugar, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until smooth. Pour over the prepared phyllo.
  4. Top with the remaining sheet of phyllo, brushing each layer with butter. Lightly score the top to allow steam to escape.
  5. Bake for 40–45 minutes until golden brown and set in the center.
  6. Cool for about 10 minutes before drizzling with warm honey and sprinkling with sesame seeds.
