  • ¾ cup unsalted butter ( sticks), cut into small pats

  2. Arrange 10 Oreo cookies in a single layer at the bottom of the dish.
  3. Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the Oreos, then gently spread the Cool Whip on top.
  4. Sprinkle the entire box of chocolate cake mix over the Cool Whip, breaking up any lumps with a fork.
  5. Distribute the small pats of butter evenly across the surface of the cake mix—do not stir.
