  • 1 1/2 cups dark chocolate chips
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 20 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips (for coating)
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tbsp heavy cream for thinning
  • Candy eyes for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9 x 9 inch cake pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter and dark chocolate chips together until smooth.
  3. Whisk in sugar and brown sugar until dissolved.
  4. Beat eggs in a stand mixer until frothy; add melted chocolate mixture and vanilla extract.
  5. Incorporate flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until just combined; fold in remaining chocolate chips.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25–30 minutes until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  7. Let cool completely before dipping into melted semi-sweet chocolate mixed with coconut oil; decorate with icing for ‘bandages’ and attach candy eyes.
